Description

Church House Farm Self-Catering Holiday Cottage are sandstone barn conversions, around the farmyard with views across the dale, and access to a large shared garden. The current buildings were built around 160 years old and a house and small holding have stood here since the Middle Ages; with the same view across the dale which guests enjoy today. At Church House Farm, you can have the best of both worlds. Stay in the picturesque and peaceful countryside of the North York Moors National Park, with the superb amenities of the villages of Danby and Castleton just 1.5 miles away, which between them offer four pubs serving great food, a small supermarket, a bakery and cafe, health shop, tea rooms and The Moors National Park Visitor Centre. Church House Farm is ideally situated to explore the beautiful North Yorkshire Heritage Coast including Whitby, Saltburn and Runswick Bay. There is the famous North York Moors Railway and 'Heartbeat' country, Helmsley Castle, Rievaulx Abbey, and Pickering Castle all within easy reach. As well as countless walks, rides and cycle routes for all abilities, including sections of The Coast to Coast Path, The Cleveland Way, and The Moors to Coast Cycle Route.

Church House Farm welcomes everyone with respect generosity and care. We aim to provide a welcoming homely retreat for guests to relax and rejuvenate in the heart of the North York Moors, surrounded by fields of grazing cows and sheep. We are always on-site for your arrival to welcome you and answer any questions about your stay.

Directions

  • Road from Castleton Village (1.9 miles)

    Follow the road out of Castleton toward Danby (just before leaving Castleton your Sat-nav may advise turning right into Ashfield Road this takes you along a narrow gated road) we advise taking the next right turn signposted Ainthorpe, Fryup and Botton Hall. Go up the hill passing houses on the right until reaching Danby Primary School on the right. Turn right immediately before the school signposted Botton and Danby Church. Follow this road for 1-mile passing the church on the right and Church House Farm is the next building on the right, and the holiday cottages are set around the large yard.

  • Road from Danby Village (1.9 miles)

    From the A171 drive through the village of Danby until you arrive in Ainthorpe, turn left at Danby Primary School signposted Botton and Danby Church. Follow this road for 1-mile passing the church on the right and Church House Farm is the next building on the right, and the holiday cottages are set around the large yard.


    Sat-navs will often take guests along the narrow gated road from Castleton or the steep gated road past Crag House Farm, these are public roads so you can keep going. Sat-navs will often take guests past our door and on to the neighbouring farm Lumley House which has the same postcode. Church House Farm is 1-mile down the main lane from Danby School overlooking Danby Church, look out for our sign and turn into the yard where you will find the holiday cottages set around the large yard.
