Linton Laithe Information

We are lucky that our luxury Bed and Breakfast in the Yorkshire Dales is situated in one of the prettiest villages in Wharfedale, Linton sits around the large green, which gently slopes down to the beck running through the middle of the village. Facing the green is the renowned Fountaine Inn, an attraction in its own right and deservedly so. With a selection of hand-pulled beers, a good wine list, and excellent menu, it has a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere with roaring log fires on chilly days. Offering a choice of snacks to enjoy in the snug or on the green depending on the weather and contemporary dining in the spacious restaurant. Close by are the incredible Linton Falls, carved through the limestone by the River Wharfe. A large footbridge spans the river giving spectacular views of the falls and up river to the weir where the water powered one of the first public electricity supplies in England.

I am Clare, a busy mum of three teenage boys, Thomas, Ben and Toby; owner of Toffee the chocolate labrador and wife of Ian. I'm a qualified primary school teacher and have been working in schools both locally and in Somerset, as well as for Barnardos for the past 12 years. Prior to my teaching career my passion for travel led me to complete a BTEC National Diploma in Travel and Tourism and Spanish and with this qualification I have worked as a ticket sales officer for Dan Air at Gatwick and Manchester and Leisure International Airways as a long haul air stewardess. A spell at Grants hotel in Harrogate and Bluebird Travel in Ilkley on reception also add to the skill set I need for this industry. During this time I have traveled to many parts of the world, meeting lots of wonderful people and experiencing many different places to stay. My parents have lived in Linton for 25 years and when the opportunity arose to return to this beautiful village we took it. Then in 2017 the rare opportunity to buy Linton Laithe B&B came up and again we took it. I hope to use all of my different life experiences to make your stay a pleasurable one and I am excited about the new chapter of my life.
