Maple Terrace Inn Information

Description

The Maple Terrace is a system of historic homes/inns conveniently located on or around the original Natchez Trace, and only 1.5 miles from the Natchez Trace Parkway. All of our inns are within a 3 block radius of the beautiful Kosciusko, Mississippi Court Square, and 3 of the 5 inns are listed on the National Historic Register. All were sensitively restored by Larry Routt, owner/innkeeper, who maintains these small town, Southern landmarks in honor of our rich history and for the enjoyment of our guests. Together, these inns can accommodate up to 42 persons. Guests choose their own complimentary Southern breakfast from a menu of 25 items graciously served to order in the home's dining rooms. With prior arrangements, groups (up to 10 people) can be seated together for breakfast at the Maple Terrace Inn B&B. Groups of more than 10 guests can be seated together for breakfast in a private dining room within walking distance of the 5 inns. For guests seeking privacy, comfort and quiet, the Maple Terrace Inn B&B, Presidents' Inn, and Martha's Cottage are excellent choices. We do not accommodate infants (under age 3) at the Maple Terrace Inn B&B or Presidents' Inn. Guests with infants (under age 3) are sure to enjoy Martha's Cottage or the Mahala Ford/Garrigues Suite. Martha's Cottage is exclusively reserved for members of the same party. The Mahala Ford/Garrigues Rooms can be reserved as a family friendly suite (up to 4 guests) online or by calling: 662-289-4131 (days), 662-792-9010 (after hours and weekends). For a real taste of small town, Southern hospitality in our uptown bed and breakfast inns, place your reservation now.

Larry Routt,owner/innkeeper, has a passion for history which includes acquiring/preserving Kosciusko, MS architecture on and around the original Natchez Trace. Three/five of these structures have been placed on the National Historic Register, and all serve as fine B&B inns. Some of my documentation of Kosciusko, MS history has been entered in the MS Dept. of Archives and History, for example: the significant role of Federal Judge Henry Clay Niles and wife Victoria of Kosciusko as relates to the family of acclaimed writer, William Faulkner of Oxford, Mississippi. Also, I helped clarify that Kosciusko's first court house was located at the present site of the H.C. Niles House, 305 N. Huntington St., Kosciusko. Some of my historic documentation can be found in the genealogy room of the Attala County Library, and there is information on the history and architecture of the inns available at each location. Our Chamber of Commerce (KAP) is within walking distance of the inns and has a wonderful staff that will be happy to provide more information on our history as well as current events. The Maple Terrace offers a real taste of small, Southern town hospitality in our uptown B&B inns.
