Old Ship Aground Information

Description

The Old Ship Aground is an historic edwardian pub located on the harbour in Minehead. Spectacular views across the harbour to the Quantocks and Wales, the location is idyllic. You can be sure to find a variety of Real Ales and Ciders in the pub to accompany our traditional pub meals and 'river cottage style' dishes. Parties for up to 100 can be catered for in a private dining room. Glorious summer evenings can be spent in our outside areas and for the winter the roaring fire attracts a locals and visitors alike. It's 12 bedrooms are all individually decorated and offer a variety of single, double, twin and superking size beds. All rooms have flatscreen freeview TV, are ensuite and have tea and coffee making facilities. Minehead is the gateway to Exmoor, the first of Britains national parks to gain the Dark Skies reserve status. Days can be spent exploring the moor, seeing the wild Exmoor Ponies and Red deer and when the sun sets the night skies are spectacular. There are a number of attractions easily accessible from the pub, The West Somerset Railway is within walking distance as is Minehead Golf Course. A short distance away is the medieval village of Dunster which has a magnicent castle and is a fine day out for all the family. Bossington and Selworthy are charming National Trust Villages and Porlock is another popular village closeby.
