Catwell House Information

Description

This secluded, quietly located and away from main roads spacious 17th Century country house bed and breakfast offers a wealth of charm and character. It still retains many original features including log fires and beams. Nestling between the famous Quantocks and Exmoor National Park with have fantastic views of open countryside. Located within its Sylvan setting on the edge of the village, Catwell Country House Bed and Breakfast is bordered by a stream and open pasture. Although secluded, all village amenities are within 5 minutes level walking distance. There are several pubs, restaurant, cafe, a post office, shops and bank. The West Somerset Railway also has a station in the village. From the house and our drive there is immediate access to the Macmillan Way West Macmillan Way West and the other established walks over the Quantock Hills via footpaths across the fields and we are also adjacent to The Coleridge Way. For those that enjoy walking we offer specialist packages with full logistics to include if you wish your dog. All in all, Catwell Country House offers the perfect setting, in a quiet and peaceful location. It has 3 en suite bedrooms and a 2 bedroomed en-suite accommodation.

Accessibility

Our Monksilver Garden suite is a ground floor bedroom with ensuite wetroom. This is an ideal room for anyone preferring not to have to use stairs. Guests must still make their way to the main house for breakfast. Not ideal for wheel chair access due to step between room and main house but suitable for those with limited walking ability.

Directions

  • Road from M5 from The North (22.0 miles)
    Exit the M5 at Junction 23. Take the A39 signposted Minehead and Brendon Hills for approximately 16 miles to the village of Williton. At the small roundabout with The Spar on your left, take the A358 towards Taunton. After 50 yards turn left sign-posted "Half Acre (leading to Catwell)" beside the Dentists and carry along this small road onto the unmade lane to the very end. You will go past a converted Barn then Catwell House is at the end on the left and enter through the open set of iron gates.
  • Road from M5 from The South (18.0 miles)
    Exit the M5 at Junction 25 and follow signs for Minehead. Take the A358 towards Minehead. As you come into Williton you will drop down a hill into the village Turn right immediately opposite The Wyndham Arms and beside the dentists, sign-posted "Half Acre (leading to Catwell)" and carry along this small road onto the unmade lane to the very end. Go past the converted Barn then Catwell House is at the end on the left and enter through the set of open iron gates.
