Craster Tower Information

Craster Tower is a fabulous apartment occupying the entire top floor of historic Craster Tower, a superbly preserved country house dating from the fifteenth century, built around a 14th century Pele Tower. Completely refurbished to the highest standard, the apartment provides elegantly decorated and furnished accommodation, with stunning views on all sides. Craster Tower is located on the fantastic Northumberland Coast. The picturesque fishing village of Craster is a short walk down a footpath through woods and fields. There are exhilarating coastal walks passing through some dramatic scenery, including one along to the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle. Alnwick Castle and Gardens are only 7 miles. Warkworth Castle, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, the Farne Islands and the Cheviot Hills are all within easy reach. Superb beaches, sand-yachting at Bamburgh, jet-skiing at Beadnell and sand-castle building at Embleton! Outstanding opportunities for ramblers and bird watchers. There are 5 golf courses within 20 minutes. The rooms are exceptionally spacious, with many original features retained including decorative coving, ornate stone and marble fireplaces and a fine Venetian chandelier in the drawing room. The garden has a tennis court and a trampoline available for the use of guests. The accommodation is truly stunning and the perfect base from which to enjoy Northumberland. The property has been awarded 5 stars and a gold award by VisitEngland . PLEASE NOTE: Check-in is from 16:00 & Check- Out is by 10:00. Early Check-ins can be arranged. We can accept dogs (Maximum 2 ). Minimum stay 3 nights.

Experience has shown that while the Tower is a perfect place for a holiday, it excels in 3 different roles: 1. It is the ideal location for those who do not know the north-east of England and southern Scotland to make their acquaintance - Durham and Edinburgh are within an hour by a regular rail service, and the coast and its many castles and other historic venues are an easy drive. The food is good as well! 2. It is ideal for children, with a large garden complete with trampoline and goalposts, a tennis court, and of course THE BEACH!. 3. It has proved a very popular venue for family celebrations and friends' reunions, whether for a week-end celebration of special birthday or a week of exploration.
