The car park is well lit at night with sensor lights that come on automatically. The surface is level tarmac and is well maintained. There is a large lantern light to the left of the front door. This is on from dusk until 11.30pm. The entrance has two steps to the porch and a further step into the hallway. There is a hand rail to assist. On arrival we are happy to assist with baggage from your car or taxi to your bedroom. We have two bedrooms on the ground floor with no further steps (bedroom 5, twin with walk in shower and bedroom 6 with a king size bed and bath with shower). Directions

  • Road from North (70.0 miles)
From the north From Liverpool, Manchester and the North, we recommend travelling via Chester, Wrexham and Oswestry. Pick up the M53 and then the A55 heading for North Wales, and then take the A483 to Wrexham. This becomes the A5 which serves as the Shrewsbury bypass. Stay on the A5 until, after a short section of dual carriageway, you meet the A5112/A49 at a large roundabout with Esso service station and Dobbies Garden Centre. Turn left on A5112 and go straight on until you join B4380 Roman Rd.
  • Road from Final approach from North (2.0 miles)
If using Sat Nav please type in SY3 and then Roman Road (B4380). Once on Roman Road, look for blue sign saying 'Shrewsbury School' and take the turning just next to this which is our road, Kennedy Road. We are some way along on the right hand side opposite the turning to Greville Road. We do not have a bed and breakfast sign so please look out for the large lantern light, stained glass door and 'In' and 'Out' signs on the brick gate posts, along with the Hambrook House sign.
  • Road from South (30.0 miles)
You take junction 10A off the M6 (M54 signposted Telford and Shrewsbury). The M54 becomes the A5 and after circa 30 miles you hit a large roundabout. Follow signs for A5 Shrewsbury (left exit). After a couple of minutes you will hit another large roundabout and here you want to take the third exit off which is signposted for Bridgenorth (keep in the right lane before going around the roundabout). This is Thieves Lane which becomes Oteley Road. Carry on to Meole Brace Roundabout.
  • Road from Final approach from South (3.0 miles)
Take the second exit (B4380, Porthill and Copthorne). At the next roundabout continue straight (B4380). You will see a blue sign on the right for Shrewsbury School. Just before this on the right is the turning for Kennedy Road. We are along Kennedy Road on the right hand side and almost opposite the turning for Greville Road. There is no bed and breakfast sign but the property has an In and Out sign on the brick gates.
  • Train from All directions (2.0 miles)
Either a short taxi drive from the station or a 20 minute walk. Up Castle Street and down Pride Hill. Keep going straight up St John's Hill and at the end of the road turn left on to Murivance. Take the first right turning over Kingsland Bridge and follow the road until it joins the junction of Kingsland Road and Kennedy Road. Turn right up Kennedy Road and we are on the left hand side with a low lying brick wall and an 'In' and 'Out' sign on the brick gate posts.
