The New Inn Information

The New Inn is a traditional and welcoming country Inn, that is delighted to provide our customers with Westcountry Food, Award Winning Cask Ales and 4 star Accommodation (Link to OTA star rating) in Coleford near Crediton: which is all overseen by our resident parrot called ‘Captain’. In a peaceful conservation village, situated in a secluded Devon valley, between Exmoor and Dartmoor, you will find the New Inn Coleford, a thatched West Country free house and restaurant with comfortable 4 star award accommodation. Our beautiful 700-year-old, Grade II Listed, Devon country Inn, specialises in real country cooking, Cask Marque ales and ciders, with a local focus, new world wines together with some of the finest malt whiskies and warm hospitality. In the 15th century, Coleford was on the main highway from Devon to Cornwall and tradition relates that the New Inn provided respite for travelling Cistercian monks. Today you will be welcomed by ‘Captain’ our talking Amazon blue parrot: who has greeted guests for over 30 years. He loves to chat and can’t wait for opening time to greet his customers. Whether you just pop in for a pint, dine with us, or stay for a romantic short-break, a business trip or world famous rugby at 'Sandy Park' Exeter, you’ll find a warm and welcoming ambience and real customer care at The New Inn, Coleford which will ensure you’ll want to return time and again.
