Kilmarnock Inn Information

Description

At the Kilmarnock Inn, we invite you to relax and enjoy the beautiful courtyard as you sip your morning coffee or evening glass of wine from your own private deck or balcony. During your stay, you can relax and enjoy all that the Northern Neck has to offer, starting with luxurious accommodations, a southern gourmet breakfast, and a variety of amenities. We are sure you will fall in love with the Inn, with Kilmarnock, and with our special lifestyle in the Northern Neck. Walk through the front doors of the Wilson House, built circa 1884, Kilmarnock Inn's main house, and be greeted like a dignitary! You will first see a replica of the presidential seal rug, the same as in the Oval Office of the White House. The presidential theme is carried throughout the main house and into the cottages; and although you will receive presidential treatment, we will also make sure you feel welcome and at home. Take a scenic drive to one of the Northern Neck's many natural preserves. Return to the Inn for an afternoon cocktail, a peaceful nap or enjoy a few hours of shopping on Main Street before unwinding for the day in our lovely courtyard or your private room. We offer a bar stocked to please everyone with addition of wines both local and popular far and near. Sit back and relax in one of our 4 dining areas, on our spacious deck, or in our beautiful courtyard. We offer you the comforts of home, only ½ block from our downtown shops and a short drive to everything the Virginia’s River Realm has to offer. From wine trails to laughter on the deck to a romantic dinner for two, enjoy your time away. We welcome you back home to the Kilmarnock Inn.

The Kilmarnock Inn was brought to life in 2008 by Sandy and Shawn Donahue. It started off as an antique shop then soon became a true-to-name Bed and Breakfast. It took some time to get the idea of lunch and dinner in place, but with enough requests from our locals, it happened and there was no looking back. The Wilson house, was built in 1884 and belonged to the Turner-Adams family. It went up for sale and sat vacant for many years until the Donahue’s stepped in to share their vision with the wonderful people of Kilmarnock and the Northern Neck. Fresh homemade ice cream from Sandy’s kitchen, coffee ground every day, the sweet and smoky brown sugar bacon, top notch chefs with experience from around the globe and the famous Bloody Mary Meal are just a few of the many wonderful things you will find here at The Kilmarnock Inn. Please enjoy the Donahue’s dream with us as you stroll through the court yard or as you sip your cup of coffee on one of the swings out front. The smiles and laughter from friends and family sitting together around a table with delicious food and wonderful wine is what awaits you here at the Kilmarnock Inn.
