Pine Lodge Guest House Information

Description

Pine Lodge is a comfortable Victorian Gentleman's residence, set on a hillside on the valley side of the West Lyn river, with fantastic views over the wooded hillside of the Watersmeet Estate. Here you will be able to relax, unwind and sleep peacefully, as the only sounds are those of the river tumbling over the rocks below and the birds in the morning. To add to the tranquillity there is little mobile phone coverage in the house but we do have free Wi-Fi connection. To start the day we serve a full English breakfast in our bright sunny dining room. We also offer lighter alternatives, freshly prepared fruit and cereals, fruit juice and tea and coffee. Vegetarian and Gluten free dietary requirements can be catered for. Our rooms are individually decorated well equipped to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Each room is en-suite. Three rooms have en-suite baths with a shower over and two en-suites have showers. Each en-suite has complementary toiletries and soft fluffy towels. There is a hair dryer in each room and an iron and ironing board are available on request. The hospitality tray has a selection of teas and coffee and fresh milk is always available. Each room has a FreeView TV. Once at Pine Lodge the car can be left in our car park, as the walk into Lynton, along the Lynway takes 10-15 minutes at a gentle stroll, with fantastic view over Lynmouth Bay as you approach Lynton. From there you can walk along the SW coast path to the Valley of Rocks and then on to Lee Bay. From Lynton you can catch the famous water powered cliff railway to Lynmouth where you can enjoy the harbour and sea front or follow the river to Watersmeet and enjoy a cream tea at the National Trust tea rooms. There are walks for all abilities. Lynton has a wide selection of cafes and restaurants to suit most tastes.

Directions

  • Road from Lynmouth (1.0 miles)
When approaching Pine Lodge from Lynmouth (A39) at the “T” junction at the top of the hill, turn left on B3234 (towards Lynbridge/Barnstaple not to Lynton), follow the road through Lynbridge. At The Cottage Inn (large white building) you need to turn sharp right- this is very tight and may be better to pass, turn round and approach from opposite direction. Pine Lodge is situated at the top of Lynway. At the top of our drive turn sharp left into the car park, and drive into the parking space
  • Road from Barnstaple (8.0 miles)
When approaching from Barnstaple, bear left at the fuel station at Barbrook, and follow road to Lynton & Lynmouth (B3234). At the fork in the road follow the signs to Lynmouth (not Lynton), you will see The Cottage Inn on your right and will need to turn left directly opposite. Pine Lodge is situated at the top of Lynway. At the top of our drive turn sharp left into the car park, and drive into the parking space
