Sherborne Lodge Information

Lynne and Laura would like to welcome you to The Sherborne Lodge, and will do our utmost to ensure your stay is relaxing and enjoyable. We are quietly located at the start of Torrs Park, one of the best areas of Ilfracombe, centrally placed for a 5—10 minutes walk to all the local facilities. These include the town centre, with plenty of shops, great restaurants, pubs, beaches, bay and harbour. Verity, the famous and controversial Damian Hirst statue towers over the picturesque harbour from where you have the opportunity to take one of the many boat trips - to Lundy, along the coast, or even a day out fishing. The Damian Hirst effect has also seen an abundance of new gallaries openining up around the town. We are yards away from the coastal path with the most beautiful scenery for either a short stroll or perhaps walk to Woolacombe – there is bus to get you back! For the cyclists, we are also on route 27 so if you are starting out for a trip to Plymouth you will find a warm welcome. Ilfracombe is ideally situated for business, leisure and sporting pursuits and is within easy reach of Barnstaple, several beautiful surfing beaches, wild and stunning Exmoor countryside, shooting grounds and championship golf courses. We welcome parties of people interested in the activities offered around the area, for example, clay-pigeon shooting, golf, fishing, diving, walking, cycling etc. and offer many facilities to ensure a very enjoyable stay including a very ample car-park which is free of charge to all guests. We have a large family bar, with darts and pool table. Off this is a patio with covered smoking area. We welcome well behaved pets but please be a responsible owner and clear up the "mess"

The Sherborne Lodge is located in a quiet road, on the hill leading up the Torrs area of the town. Access to the car park is good except for minibuses if there is a car parked opposite the entrance. It is approximately half a mile from the bus station, which is level most of the way until about 200 yards from the property where the rise to the Torrs begins. However there is a bus stop about 3 minutes away from here. There is ample parking available in our own car park which has a slight slope up to the building. However, it is possible to park outside the front door to load and unload your luggage. The front door is 3ft wide and leads to reception and the guest lounge. The bar and breakfast room are down stairs but can also be accessed from the patio area—with one step down - from the car park. Only room 1 is on the ground floor which is a double room with a 4ft bed. The other bedrooms are on the first and second floor—the family suites are all on the second floor.
