Swallows Rest Information

Description

Visit Swallows Rest and discover Dorset, a county of outstanding natural beauty which boasts England’s World Heritage Site known as the Jurassic Coast, with rolling hills, breath taking countryside, beautiful villages, and sandy and award winning beaches. We're on the South West Coastal Path National Trail with 630 miles of superb coastline, one of the top walks in the world. At the bottom of our land is the world famous Chesil Beach and the Fleet Saltwater Estuary which runs 10 miles along to Abbotsbury. Our Bed & Breakfast rooms, decorated with an eclectic mix of furniture, are named after birds which frequent the Fleet Nature Reserve: Merganser, Redshank, Sandpiper & Little Tern. Our rooms cost from £75-£115 for double occupancy and from £60-£80 for single occupancy. We have a large luxury suite available for £190pn. We're happy to accommodate children over 8 yrs. Dorset chocolates and home made cakes, tea and coffee are served in the bedrooms on Royal Doulton and Wedgwood china collections. Rooms have sea views of the Fleet Saltwater Estuary and Chesil Beach across the fields where the horses, alpacas and sheep graze. Guests have access to the gardens, the summer house and fields with a footpath through our land leading down to the sea which is just 300 metres from the farm house. We use our chicken, bantam and duck eggs for breakfast, dry cured bacon and sausages from local butchers, and homemade cakes, granola, jams and marmalade are our speciality. We have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Archie. Our pet pigs George & Mildred wander freely in the gardens along with rare breed chicken, ducks and beautiful bantams. Please note at certain times of the year our ducks quack during the night unfortunately! In the fields we have Wiltshire Longhorn sheep and horses, including Fudge a gorgeous blond Shetland pony, Charlie & Coco miniature Shetland ponies and Alpacas Kim, Barney & Angus
