Description

A romantic retreat and an escape from the outside world, Tor Cottage offers luxury spacious accommodation with a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Nestling in its own private valley Tor Cottage is small and very special, offering spacious luxury accommodation to a maximum of 10 guests. As national winner of the prestigious England for Excellence Award, only the very best is on offer. Each bed-sitting room, situated in the beautiful gardens, has its own private terrace and garden or private conservatory. Our garden ensuites have their own log fire for winter use. You arrive to our friendly welcome and will find our 'Welcome Trug' of sparkling cava, homemade organic fudge and fresh fruit in your immaculate ensuite. We can book you a table at a local restaurant or Inn. Our Full Cooked Breakfasts are lavish and offers an array of choice. Gardens, a stream side setting and 28 acres of wildlife hillsides surround you. Swim in the outside heated pool in Summer, walk through the valleys towards Lydford Gorge and Dartmoor. Play golf, ride, fish or cycle or visit the coastlines of Devon and Cornwall. Tavistock, voted best market town in England, is a 10 minute drive. The Cornwall border is a 20 minute drive. A one-hour drive takes you via Bodmin Moor to Charlestown – prime location areas for the BBC Series Poldark. A 45-minute drive takes you to the Eden Project. A 35-minute scenic route takes you to Port Isaac, where the ITV Series Doc Martin was filmed amidst the spectacular North Cornwall Coast – this area also features in Poldark. Accommodation is available throughout the year. We require a minimum 2 night stay. Why not take advantage of our Autumn and Spring Breaks - minimum 3 night stay including our full breakfasts. Available 1st October to End of Apr

Guests with mobility impairment will be able to enjoy the spacious comfort of our ground floor ensuites. It should be noted that there is one step into the accommodation but we we have a ramp which can be set in place. The grounds are well lit at night but walkways are gravel between the paved terraces therefore transit by wheelchair is difficult. Internal doorways are not wheelchair width. However we are happy to assist guests with walking difficulties wherever possible.
