Description

Situated opposite the West Lyn Gorge within Exmoor National Park, Woodlands Guesthouse is a fine detached Victorian house offering 6 luxury guest bedrooms with elegant yet contemporary facilities. Woodlands is a perfect destination to enjoy the many outside activities of Exmoor and is perfect for groups of up to 12 adults as well as couples. Evening meals and packed lunches are also available upon request. Each Super King sized and Superior Double bedroom boasts a mini bar, 32" flat screen TV, and complimentary tea tray with range of teas and biscuits. The en suite wet rooms are fitted with power showers, underfloor heating and anti-mist mirrors. Complimentary toiletries and filtered water are also provided. Guests have the use of an elegant lounge with Honesty Bar and breakfast is served in a spacious light and airy dining room with views over the West Lyn Gorge. Steve and Lesley have owned Woodlands since 2015. They are keen to promote well being and good health choices which is reflected in the cuisine prepared at Woodlands, including freshly prepared green juices and smoothies which are made to order. Steve is an accomplished cook and evening meals are available upon request. He provides a high quality breakfast menu with a wide range of vegetarian choices in addition to traditional fare. Paleo breakfast is also available. Lesley is a qualified and very experienced sports massage therapist and guest massage treatments are available on request. Lesley is also a Nordic Walking instructor and provides instruction and guided walks for guests upon request. Woodlands is situated close to many local attractions including the Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway, The Valley of Rocks, the Exmoor Heritage Coast with Southwest Coastal Path. Surfing and body-boarding can also be found at the fabulous beaches of Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe (45 mins by car).

Accessibility

Woodlands Guesthouse is located at the top of a steep driveway of approx 50 yards in length which those with breathing or circulatory issues may find challenging. We would advise that as the house does not have an internal lift, in our opinion the property is not best suited for people with mobility issues.

Directions

  • Road from Lynton and Lynmouth (0.5 miles)
    From the top of Lynmouth Hill turn left to Lynbridge. Woodlands Car Park is located on left hand side after approx 200 yards. Woodlands Guesthouse is located on the hill opposite the Car Park.
  • Bus from Barnstaple (19.0 miles)
    Take the bus for Lynton at Barnstaple Bus Station. Please note that there is no bus service on Sundays.
